Double D gave me this awesome book about a yr ago that I found. It is Story People by Brian Andreas and it is like wacked out Dr. Seuss. Anyway thumbing thru it, which book is little exerts and sayings that crack me up. So wanted to share some with you guys.
Season of Joy:
She asked me when the season of joy was suppose to end and I said I didn't really think there was an exact date, so we left the tree up till June that year.
(See you can always come up with some reason to enjoy Christmas year round, and not take the decorations down again just to put back up, again!!)
Clean Underwear:
Make sure you got clean underwear, she always said, in case you get in an accident and I always figured that'd be the least of my worries, but now I'm older and I see there's a lot you can't control and some you can control and clean underwear is one of those you can. for the most part.
(Love this. So true. Wouldn't you hate to be in the paper for all eternity and there be a quote from officer Mayberry saying we got her out just fine, but her underwear was rank. If it occured to someone other than me, I know I would probably frame it and post on a public wall for all to see. Remember that girls.)
Two Wise Men:
My great aunt Clara tod us once about the time she was one of the wise men in hte church play and when it came to her part she said we're here bearing frankincense, gold & myrrh, heavy on the frankincense because of that camel smell & after that her father always called it the story of the Two Wise Men and that other guy & we laughed so hard we had to pee.
(I could see my kids doing this, especially Catdog. Lord save us!)
Chihuahua (this is my fav, don't really know why):
I remember once I went to my great grandmother's house. It was a big white house and it always smelled like slightly burned toast & raspberry jam. She had a picture of Jesus on the wall in her living room. She told me his eyes would follow you around when you walked. I told a friend about it a while ago. He nodded and said he used to have a Chihuahua that did the same thing.
(See, I can't help but like it. It sounds like some fast comment that I would come up with. Imagine the conversation you telling someone about this kinda freaky thing and them saying oh well my dog does the same thing. I love it.)
Hope you are all having a great day and Christmas is only 20 days away!!!
